Nomination Committee - Traditionally chaired by the current "Immediate Past President," this committee handles required notices of election, ballots and the election itself. Membership Committee - Their primary purpose is to solicit additional members, keep industry diversity and promote involvement and stewardship. Demographics information and member surveys at annual meetings help to determine membership needs. Program Committee - This committee schedules annual meeting dates, selects meeting locations and makes all necessary hotel, food and beverage and recreational arrangements, upon Board approval. They are also responsible for all printed programs, tickets, etc. that may be required, establishing a "meeting cost," and coordinating all payments with the Treasurer. A post annual meeting financial report is also presented to the Board. Communications Committee - The "Committee on Information and Publications," referred to as the Communications Committee, is responsible for assembling, editing and circulating the quarterly SATA newsletter. The newsletter shall reflect the mission/vision of SATA and provide timely, accurate and informative information to members and potential members. The committee also circulates all annual meeting information and registration forms to members. Technical Development Committee - The main responsibility of this committee is planning and arranging the "technical" portion of both annual meetings and providing articles for publication in the newsletter that are of a technical nature to the Communications Committee. Legislation and Regulatory Committee - Functioning in the same manner as the Technical Committee, this group shares the same goals and responsibilities, from a regulatory perspective. This committee has captivated the interest of our industry and members more than any other, because regulations influence our everyday business and dictate which of us will survive. They keep members up-to-date on cutting-edge changes in State, Local and Federal regulations. Public Relations Committee - This committee provides accurate information to all segments of society regarding the use of the aerosol package, proper disposal and environmental impact and benefits it provides the consumer. The committee's responsibilities fall into the following 9 categories, with each category containing many sub-categories: National, Regional, Local, Recycling-Curb Side, Recycling-Industrial, Recycling-In-house, Academic, Civic and Institutional. Historical Committee - Members are responsible for recording significant SATA names, dates and occurrences that are relevant to the accurate accounting of the organization's distant and recent past. The committee tracks all relevant dates pursuant to careers, anniversaries, retirements, promotions, deaths, etc. of those prominent to our industry or association. Awards Committee - A committee which selects candidates from the aerosol industry for consideration as recipients of the prestigious and coveted SATA Distinguished Service Award. The award is presented once each calendar year, normally at the fall meeting. Nominations are solicited from members or non-members in the industry, and award selection is made by the Board of Directors. Industry Relations Committee - The committee maintains communications with other industry groups through the SATA newsletter, yearly meetings, word-of-mouth, Spray Technologies and other trade publications and personal activities, in an effort to address many of the issues between the various industry organizations and improve communications activities. The committee acts as a liaison between the different aerosol organizations (CSPA, MAA, WAIB, NAA, EAA, etc.)
